JOB TRAINING PROGRAM
2024
AMDD introduced a Job Training Program in 2023. This year the program grew from 5 participating businesses to 8. AMDD seeks city businesses that would benefit from a student that they would train for the summer with AMDD providing the funding of $10.00 per hour per student for no more than 40 hours per week.
AHS Counselor BJ Garcia worked closely with AMDD Director Monica Rodriguez to pair students with businesses. An end-of-year social was held to acknowledge the success of the students and thank the businesses for their participation. Susan LeBlanc presented official certificates from State Representative Terri Leo Wilson for their participation and thanked AMDD for the opportunity given to the students.
AMDD hopes to make this an annual project including more students and businesses.
